Limmud Baltics "Touch The Future"
Join us for the Limmud Baltics “Touch the Future” conference, dedicated to exploring modern technologies and their impact on society from a Jewish perspective. This event will take place in Jurmala, Latvia, from February 9th to 11th, 2024.
Participants from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and across the European Union, including Finland, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, Germany, and Austria, will gather for lectures, discussion panels, movie screenings, concerts, and craft master classes.
The conference will explore the theme of “Expanding Jewish Horizons” in connection with the “Memory Futures” grant, addressing questions such as:
How can Jewish history help us adapt to technological advancements?
What will the future European Jewish identity look like?
How can Jewish teachings inform the development and use of emerging technologies?
In light of the recent Israel conflict, a dedicated track will focus on the events of October 7, 2023, and their aftermath, featuring representatives from the Israeli Embassy, historians, and economists discussing the political, economic, and social impacts.
Highlights include a film screening and discussion with renowned director Roman Kachanov, sessions on Israel's space program and medical innovations, and powerful messages on global political changes.
Don’t miss this opportunity for meaningful dialogue and the exchange of ideas on the intersection of Jewish tradition and modernity. Join us in Jurmala to touch the future together!
