Limmud Prague 2026

In 2026, Limmud in the Czech Republic enters a new phase. The existing format is transforming into Limmud Prague, which will now take place directly in the capital and return more closely to its original roots - intensive Jewish learning and shared study. The new concept draws inspiration from the idea of the Lehrhaus, an educational institution founded in 1920 by the philosopher Franz Rosenzweig. Like the original Lehrhaus, Limmud Prague aims to create a space for dialogue, study of texts, philosophy, and culture, welcoming a broad range of participants regardless of their religious background or level of knowledge.

- The program will take the form of an extended Shabbaton, offering lectures, workshops, and discussions led by both Czech and international speakers.
- Inspired by the concept of the Lehrhaus, it aims to create an inclusive environment for exploring Jewish texts, philosophy, and culture, while strengthening intergenerational dialogue and community engagement.
- Among the international guests are Gila Fine, an award-winning scholar of rabbinic literature; Sophie Goldblum, a European Jewish educator and founder of the Ze Kollel platform; philosopher Moshe Halbertal; and historian Dina Porat.
- The program will also feature Rabbi Yehuda Yeasharim and Rabbi Shmuel Rosenberg.
- In addition to lectures, Limmud Prague will include presentations from local community projects as well as a diverse program for children and youth, making it accessible to participants of all ages and backgrounds.
- The overall goal is to deepen Jewish learning, connect diverse perspectives, and support an active and vibrant Jewish community.
- Since 2008, Limmud has been active in the Czech Republic and, as one of the largest community events, has contributed annually to the development of Jewish life.

- The program will take place primarily at the Lauder Schools in Prague and at the Jewish Town Hall in Prague 1
- The price for the entire program, including Shabbat meals (dinner, lunch, and Seuda Shlishit), is 700 CZK per adult; children/youth up to 26 years old and seniors 65+ pay 400 CZK
- The price for the lecture program only, without Shabbat meals, is 300 CZK per adult; children/youth under 26 and seniors 65+ pay 100 CZK
- Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation.
