Memory Futures

About the project

Memory Futures (2022–2024) was a two-year pan-European project coordinated by Limmud Europe and 11 partner organisations. Building on the grassroots Limmud model, it created inclusive, volunteer-led spaces for Jewish learning, culture, and dialogue. The project delivered 13 Limmud events across nine countries, three pan-European online gatherings, and targeted volunteer trainings. In total, it engaged over 1,700 participants directly and reached an estimated 40,000 more through online content and partner networks.

The project not only strengthened existing communities but also sparked new ones in Luxembourg, Valencia, Poland, and Ireland. By combining learning, creativity, and civic engagement, Memory Futures built lasting connections across Europe and formally established Limmud Europe as an independent entity. Its legacy is a sustainable network of Jewish learning communities, empowered volunteers, and pluralistic spaces that will continue to grow beyond the project’s lifetime.
